Charlie Rodriguez Santiago

...outstanding young cuatrista that began his career in 1986 under the tutelage of the King of the Cuatro, Maso Rivera. From his very first class with maestro Maso, Charlie demostrated that he was born to play the Puerto Rican cuatro. Next to Maso, Charlie traveled to different towns of the Island teaching his art and that's why Mas always called him his star pupil.
During his musical trajectory Charlie has participated with the best groups of Puerto Rico and has carried his cuatro to different places around the world, including Alaska in 1998. During that year he began the production and direction of a radio program entitled El Cuatro Sin Fonteras  [The Cuatro Without Frontiers], achieving a great success for the cuatro and Puerto Rican music. Charlie is currently working on a solo recording with the same name.

Maribel Delgado

Maribel Delgado was born in 1979 in Camuy, Puerto Rico. She is a fine example of devotion to the cuatro and to perfecting its execution, and so represents a spirit of commitment and dedication to Puerto Rican youth.

Beside being a winner of first prizes during numerous regional contests, Maribel has featured her skills during cultural festivals in Chicago, Connecticut, and Chile.

Her first compact disk recording, El Cuatro en Manos de Una Mujer [The Cuatro in a Woman's Hands], earned her the distinction of being the first woman to record a solo compact disk.

The great cuatrista "Prodigio" Claudio invited this Camuy cuatrista to participate in one of his important projects during 2003, his production titles, ‘Sabor a Cuatro en la Navidad’ [A Taste of Cuatro in Christmans] where she participated along with several other great Puerto Rican cuatristas.
